2006 Huckins 56 Linwood

This 2006 Huckins 56 Linwood is a composite downeast cruiser built by the Jacksonville-based Huckins Yacht company, known for their classic design and Quadraconic hull technology. Powered by twin Cummins QSM11 diesel engines producing 670 horsepower each, the yacht reaches 30 knots at top speed and cruises comfortably at 22 knots. The shallow draft of 2 feet 6 inches and low air draft make her well-suited to varied cruising grounds, and the hull design is efficient enough to plane on a single engine. Hamilton 403 jet drives have been recently serviced.

The interior was originally designed by an owner experienced in custom aircraft interiors, and this thoughtful approach carries through the entire layout. The master stateroom spans the full beam with a centerline queen berth and dual heads connected by a walk-through shower, along with two hanging lockers and washer-dryer. The forward guest stateroom features another centerline queen with an ensuite head and shower. A substantial galley with granite countertops sits mid-deck, while the salon provides ample seating and an electric high-low table.

Recent upgrades include new navigation systems with two Big Bay computers and three touch-screen monitors, a Starlink installation, new Stidd captain and companion helm seats, fixed-fin stabilizers, and joystick controls. Climate control is handled by six Marine Air reverse-cycle units distributed throughout. A Northern Lights 20-kilowatt generator supports the systems. The hull was repainted by Huckins in 2020 with Alexseal two-part polyurethane paint. Additional equipment includes a rescue pod life raft and carbon fiber passerelle.
