2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i Performance

This 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i Performance is a cruising sailboat designed by Marc Lombard with an injection-moulded deck that combines structural strength and light weight for enhanced stability. The hull is fiberglass, and the yacht sits 38.91 feet in length with a 12.73-foot beam. Power comes from a single 40-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, delivering a cruising speed of 6 knots and maximum speed of 7.5 knots.

Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and one head with a separate stall shower. The saloon features warm teak joinery, a wraparound dinette to starboard seating five to six, and a straight settee opposite a dedicated navigation station. The L-shaped galley sits conveniently near the companionway and includes a 12-volt top-load fridge with freezer compartment, a two-burner stove with oven, double stainless steel sink, and a gas alarm.

On deck, twin steering wheels and electric winches bring all reefing and sail control lines back to the helm for ease of handling. The cockpit is spacious with a centreline table for six, broad swim platform, hot-and-cold transom shower, and dedicated life raft storage. The Performance variant comes with a taller mast, increased sail area, tri-radial main and headsails, an adjustable backstay, asymmetrical screecher, removable bowsprit, furlers, and electric primary winches.

Anchoring equipment includes an oversize Sacra Excel anchor, 70 metres of 10-millimetre chain, and 80 metres of 16-millimetre warp. The yacht handles well in confined spaces and is designed for short-handed operation, with excellent reverse control and manoeuvrability on its keel.
