2006 Luhrs 28 Open

This 2006 Luhrs 28 Open is a fiberglass sportfisherman built for serious offshore work and efficiency. Twin Yanmar diesel engines producing 480 total horsepower drive the boat, with the port engine at 638 hours and starboard at 750 hours. Both turbos were replaced in 2025, and all coolers were serviced the same year. The boat carries 360 gallons of fuel and is fitted with ZipWake electric trim tabs and Glendinning electronic throttle controls for refined operation.

The boat features dual helm stations—upper and lower—allowing command from multiple locations. A full cabin accommodates four berths and includes a functional head, 55-gallon freshwater tank, shore power connection, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer. Fishing capability is substantial: new 25-foot Lee outriggers with pulleys, a 15-foot center rigger, heavy-duty anchor winch, and a folding tower complete the rig.

Navigation and electronics are modern and comprehensive. Three Garmin displays (7616xsv, 7610xsv, and 7607xsv) integrate with a Garmin GHC20 autopilot and GMR xHD2 4-foot open array radar. Two Icom command microphone VHFs provide communication. A Fusion head unit powers a JL Audio sound system with tower speakers.

Significant upgrades were completed between 2023 and 2025, including new AGM batteries, a three-bank ProMariner charger, four-blade props with Prop Speed application, all new gauges, new Isinglass enclosure, custom teak rocket launcher, SeaBlaze underwater lights, new topside hatches, under-gunwale LED lights, a new head macerator, and freshwater pump replacement. Bottom paint is approximately 1.5 years old.
