2006 Luhrs 41 Open

The 2006 Luhrs 41 Open is a purpose-built offshore sportfisher with a solid fiberglass modified-V hull, 15'9" beam, and 100-square-foot cockpit. Twin Cummins QSM11 diesel engines deliver 580 horsepower each for a total of 1,160 hp, with approximately 2,000 hours on the engines. The boat typically cruises at 26–27 knots and reaches around 32 knots at wide-open throttle, burning roughly 37 gallons per hour at cruise speed.

The boat underwent extensive mechanical work between 2018 and 2021, including a complete 1000-hour engine service, replacement heat exchangers and water pumps, new fuel injectors, dripless shaft seals, propeller truing, and cutless bearing replacement. Major systems include a 25,000 BTU reverse-cycle heat and air unit with two-zone digital control, three automatic bilge pumps with high-water alarms, Fireboy fire suppression, and an Oil-X-Change system for engines and transmissions. Welded aluminum fuel tanks hold 600 gallons, with fresh water capacity of 130 gallons.

Below, the interior combines fishing practicality with cruising comfort. The salon features cherry cabinetry, a Bose stereo, 42" Samsung Smart TV, and a convertible sofa berth. A galley holds a built-in microwave, coffee maker, dual-drawer refrigerator-freezer, and electric cooktop. The forward stateroom has an island queen berth with cedar-lined lockers and overhead lighting. The single head includes an electric toilet and separate hot/cold shower.

Electronics and networking were upgraded with dual 14" Furuno touchscreen displays, 6KW Furuno radar, Raymarine VHF, autopilot, and an internet extender. The cockpit is rigged for tournament fishing with a 50-gallon livewell, in-deck fishboxes, bait prep center, freshwater and raw water washdowns, and multiple rod holders welded to an upgraded tower. All exterior lighting has been converted to LED. The hull was painted in 2020, and synthetic teak flooring was installed on deck and bridge.
