The Seacart 30 is a high-performance one-design racing trimaran designed by Marc Lombard and built in 2006 by Marstrom Composite AB using pre-preg carbon and Nomex construction throughout. At approximately 950 kilograms without sails, the hull delivers the speed and structural rigidity demanded of serious offshore and inshore multihull racing. The boat is powered by a Mercury outboard engine and rides on a custom-engineered Harbeck road trailer built specifically for the Seacart 30.
Hull number 7 underwent a comprehensive refit between 2021 and 2023 that touched every system. New components include a Mercury outboard engine, integrated autopilot system, complete Elvstrøm sail wardrobe, all running rigging, Karver winches, Harken blocks throughout, new rudder heads, new trampolines, and lithium-ion service batteries. The refurbishment also included structural work and systems overhaul, reducing the overall weight by approximately 100 kilograms. The carbon mast and boom meet high-performance racing specification.
The deck layout is optimized for racing efficiency with Karver winches, high-load hardware, and Code-0 furling systems for rapid sail mode changes. Navigation and instruments center on Sailmon integration with Garmin and B&G systems, autopilot-ready for short-handed offshore racing. The composite daggerboard and rudder are engineered for low drag and high-speed control. The Elvstrøm sail package includes a fathead mainsail, jib, gennaker A2, and twin Code-0s on furlers, with flatter code sail designs that prioritize acceleration over additional heeling.
The boat has demonstrated consistent competitive performance, including line honours at the Fyn Cup, multiple Vegvisir Race wins, and record sailed distances in 24-hour races. It has achieved speeds exceeding 27 knots with sustained averages above 10 knots.
