2006 MJM 34z

The 2006 MJM 34z is a downeast-style cruising yacht built to Doug Zurn's design, known for seakindly performance and efficient fuel economy. The hull combines high-tech composite core construction with an epoxy post-cure for strength and light weight. The shape features a sharp vee entry, lifting strakes, flat sections aft for stability, and a half tunnel for shallow draft. The exterior shows a black Awlgrip hull with gold cove and white boot stripes, white decks with cream non-skid, and is fitted with a custom winter cover.

The boat received a complete engine and generator overhaul in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Power comes from a Yanner 6LF diesel engine rated at 485 hp with 51 hours of service. Recent improvements include new house batteries and a Victron inverter charger installed in 2025, along with fresh bottom paint and running gear updates. A Westerbeke generator fitted in 2023 carries warranties through 2028.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates cruising with a forward v-berth fitted with a custom 6-inch mattress, one head, and a galley. The helm and companion seats are Stidd models with custom storage drawers beneath. Climate control includes ducted air conditioning and heat throughout. The cabin features tilt-up powered front windshields for ventilation, and interior varnish on table tops and companionway doors was refreshed recently.

Onboard systems include bow and stern thrusters with joystick controls, a Raymarine E125 Hybrid touch multifunction display, solar panels, and custom cockpit cushions. Covers for the stern, swim platform, and helm protect the boat when not in use.
