A 2006 Protector Targa 28, this rigid inflatable combines proven naval architecture with substantial recent investment. Twin Yamaha F200 engines installed in 2023 with only 40 hours of running time deliver the performance Protector is known for, paired with SeaStar power-assisted steering and BlueSea remote battery switches at the helm. The navy blue tube set remains in excellent condition, built from UV-resistant Hypalon with chafe-resistant rub rails and equipped with rescue lines and grab handles along their length.
The fully integrated pilot house provides high visibility and all-weather protection, with substantial stainless steel hardware throughout including bow and tow posts, engine protection bars, and cabin handrails. Seating includes a helm station with teak foot rests, passenger-side companion seat, and a rear bench with under-seat coolers and storage. Additional refinements include Lenco trim tabs with auto retract, an electric head with holding tank, fresh water system, and a dual-engine transom flush kit.
Electronics were completely refreshed in 2023 with a Simrad suite centered on a 12-inch NSS evo3S plotter, Halo 20+ HD radar, RS40 VHF radio with AIS, and Fusion Apollo stereo with Bluetooth. Navigation and accent lighting throughout is LED-based. Battery charging is handled by a two-bank NORCO GenPro system, with 30-amp shore power available.
The 125-gallon fuel tank features internal baffles and dual fueling stations at the transom. All seating upholstery was renewed during the 2023 refit. Canvas canvases include windshield clears, running backdrop, aft deck cover, and companionway cover.
