This 2006 Rinker 282 Captiva is a 29-foot fiberglass bowrider powered by a Volvo Penta 8.1 375-horsepower engine with dual props. The engine underwent a major overhaul approximately 150 hours ago, with the props subsequently cupped to Volvo's specifications. A fresh water impeller and gimbal bearing were replaced in the fall, and an oil change was performed in May. The boat reaches speeds of 46–49 mph depending on conditions and load, and cruises smoothly at 25–28 mph.
The bow layout includes a spacious seating area with helm and passenger seats; the captain's seat was recovered three years ago, while the first mate's seat remains original. The entertainment system includes seven 6-inch coaxial speakers and a 10-foot subwoofer that requires attention to optimize bass performance. Onboard systems include a 100-gallon fuel tank, 10-gallon fresh water tank, 30-gallon waste water tank, shore power for battery charging, Lenco electric trim tabs, and a powered anchor. Storage compartments accommodate life jackets, bumpers, water skis, and other gear. A round table and stand occupy the forward storage area. The boat comes with a full-size cover approximately three years old.
The refrigerator is non-functional; ice chests are an alternative for food storage. The hull shows some scratches on the sides from previous tie-up contact. Total boat hours are approximately 530, though the hour meter stopped recording after winter storage. A full-size canvas cover is included.
