This 2006 Sabre 38 Express is powered by twin Cummins QSB5.9-380 diesel engines producing 760 horsepower, configured with direct drive and Smart Craft displays. The boat cruises at 18–22 knots and reaches 30 knots at full throttle. Navigation and control systems include Garmin and Raymarine multifunction displays, Raymarine ST6000 autopilot with remote operation, Standard Horizon VHF with AIS, and dual control stations—one in the cockpit and one below. A Side Power bow thruster and 5kW Northern Lights generator support easy maneuvering and onboard power. Fuel capacity is 335 gallons.
The single-cabin layout features a spacious forward island berth, a settee that converts to a second berth, and a head with stand-up shower. The galley is fully equipped. Fresh water capacity is 100 gallons, waste holds 40 gallons, and a 25-gallon-per-hour watermaker is installed. Starlink satellite connectivity is on board. Interior joinery and brightwork reflect careful maintenance throughout the classic Downeast-influenced design.
Since 2022, significant work has been completed: marine hoses on both engines and the generator were replaced, a new 2800-watt Magna Sine inverter was installed, cutlass bearings and dripless shaft seals were replaced and shafts verified true, exhaust elbows were renewed, and the propane stove and water heater were replaced. The cockpit control station was added during this period. The bottom was painted and zincs replaced in September 2024 following a haul-out inspection.
