The 2006 Sabre 38 Hard Top Express combines proven design with strong diesel power. Twin Yammer engines with straight shaft direct drives produce 880 horsepower, delivering 25 knots cruising speed and a 30-knot top end. The fiberglass hull measures 38 feet in length with a 13.67-foot beam, presenting a capable platform for coastal and offshore cruising.
The boat carries extensive modern systems and recent upgrades. The Awlgrip Flag Blue hull was refinished in 2015, and the aft canvas enclosure was updated in 2017. Both engines were rebuilt in 2023. Navigation and communication systems include new Raymarine HD Color Radar installed in 2024, Ray260 VHF radio, and Starlink Mini satellite connectivity added in 2025. Two 100-watt solar panels with controller provide solar charging capacity, supported by a 9.0kW Onan generator.
Below and upper helm spaces offer climate control through air conditioning and reverse cycle heat across four zones. The helm includes STIDD chairs, a wet bar with ice maker and refrigerator, and a Side Power bow thruster for maneuvering. A Nautley Marine XL Roll-On davit is installed for tender handling. The boat has benefitted from consistent seasonal use in New England waters, regular maintenance, and indoor winter storage.
