2006 Waterline 50

The Waterline 50 is a custom-built steel offshore cruising yacht designed by naval architect Ed Rutherford as an evolution of the acclaimed Waterline 46. Built for serious bluewater passagemaking, she combines robust steel construction with refined interior spaces and comprehensive systems integration. Her widened stern sections and expansive wraparound deck salon windows create a practical yet elegant design suited to extended ocean passages or liveaboard living.

The interior centers on a raised deck salon finished in cherry wood with wraparound windows flooding the space with natural light. The main salon features a U-shaped dining settee, ultra-leather seating, and an entertainment center, while the raised galley is equipped for serious offshore cooking with a Broadwater four-burner stove, Corian countertops, and a 12-volt cold-plate refrigeration system. Two staterooms provide comfortable accommodations: an aft owner's suite with a king island berth and private head, and a forward guest cabin with a queen berth. Both head compartments feature VacuFlush toilets and separate shower stalls.

On deck, the yacht is comprehensively equipped for short-handed sailing with all controls led aft to the cockpit. A LeisureFurl in-boom furling mainsail system works with UK Halsey Tape Drive sails, a 150-percent genoa on a Harken furler, and an asymmetrical spinnaker. Electric primary, halyard, and furling winches power Andersen self-tailing winches throughout. Additional deck systems include a Lewmar V4 electric windlass with dual 88-pound anchors, a polished stainless steel pulpit and pushpit, and a tender davit with electric winches.

The Yanmar 160-horsepower diesel engine has logged 2,715 hours and drives a MaxProp feathering propeller. A Northern Lights 7-kilowatt generator added in 2024 supports extensive electrical systems including a 3,000-watt inverter-charger, four house batteries, 160-amp alternator, and four fixed solar panels. Additional features include a bow thruster, dual cockpit helms plus inside steering station, upgraded Furuno and Raymarine electronics with wireless autopilot remote, Hurricane diesel hydronic heating, an Everhot water system, a Spectra watermaker, and a Splendide washer-dryer combo.
