2007 Bayliner Discovery 246

The 2007 Bayliner Discovery 246 is a 26-foot fiberglass cruiser built for serious fishing and capable big-water operation. Twin MerCruiser engines with a combined 265 horsepower power the boat, which planes at 14 to 16 knots on flat water and reaches approximately 40 mph at top speed. The hull is equipped with a Bravo III dual counter-rotation outdrive and Hydro Shield bottom protection. The main 5.7-liter engine runs on low hours—less than 100—with recent maintenance including a new water delivery pump, new rubber boot, spark plugs, wires, and filters. A 15-horsepower Honda kicker and 36-volt Minn Kota trolling motor with autopilot, wireless remote control, and cruise control round out the propulsion package. Power trim tabs allow tuning for varying water conditions.

The boat accommodates three bunks, dining table, and deck table. The cabin includes a bathroom with shower, head, and sink, plus a hot water heater, fresh water holding tank, and waste tank. Galley amenities are extensive: electric and alcohol stove, microwave, kitchen sink, and refrigerator. A livewell and washdown pump support fishing operations.

Electronics and fishing equipment are comprehensive: four fish finders, three GPS chartplotters, two VHF radios, Humminbird radar, Cisco motorized downriggers rated for 20-pound balls, and a Live Scope camera mounted to the trolling motor providing 600-foot scanning capability. Rod holders, spotlights, and work lights are installed throughout. Onboard battery chargers power seven batteries in good condition.

Minor items requiring attention include some missing window handle covers, loose stitching on canopy panels, deck carpeting that could be refreshed, and seat upholstery that may warrant future maintenance. The water heater has not been tested. The boat comes with a trailer featuring new 6000-pound axles, new tires, and two spare tires with carriers.
