2007 Custom Fast Passenger Ferry
About This Yacht
This is a 116-foot aluminium catamaran ferry built in Australia in 2007 by Aluminium Marine Co Ltd, designed by Incat Crowther Design. The boat is rated for 350 passengers across three deck areas: 174 on the main deck, 24 in first class, and 142 on the upper deck. A crew of seven operates the vessel. Built to Lloyd's Register Class and later surveyed to Seychelles Government Class, it carries comprehensive SOLAS safety equipment including six enclosed life rafts and a rescue boat with davits.
Power comes from two MTU 12V 4000M70 diesel engines producing 4,670 total horsepower. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 34 knots under laden conditions and maintains a service speed of 31 knots at 90 percent MCR, with a range of 280 nautical miles. Two Zf Bw4540 gearboxes drive fixed pitch propellers. Fuel capacity is 3,000 litres; fresh water storage is 450 litres per tank, and black water tanks hold 1,000 litres each.
Fire and smoke detection systems are installed throughout, with CO2 protection in the engine room and A60 structural fire prevention. Hand-held fire extinguishers provide additional safety coverage. The boat carries two Perkins auxiliary generators. Machinery is regularly operated and maintained despite the vessel being currently laid up.
