The 2007 Fountain 42 Lightning is a high-performance V-bottom offshore boat powered by twin 850 horsepower supercharged MerCruiser engines paired with Mercury Racing #6 drives. Built on Fountain's stepped-hull design, the boat delivers a Fountain-certified top speed of 125 mph with a cruising speed of 70 mph. The fiberglass hull measures 42 feet in length with an 8.3-foot beam, engineered for rough-water handling and offshore capability.
This example has undergone comprehensive restoration work completed in early 2025. The custom paint finish was applied in December 2024, featuring a subtle pearl effect. Engine work was completed by Lilly's, transmissions were rebuilt by Baum, and the interior was refreshed in January 2025. Metalwork and railings were refinished in black, and SeaDek-style decking was installed throughout. The boat carries approximately 260 total hours.
The Fountain 42 Lightning has been stored indoors in a climate-controlled boatel since 2009, protected from outdoor exposure. A fully restored Nextrail trailer is included with the sale, completed in June 2026 with new axles and a complete mechanical refresh. Complete service and restoration records are available for review.
