2007 Hunter 38

The 2007 Hunter 38 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built for comfortable long-distance sailing with responsive handling and practical design. Powered by a 40-horsepower Yanmar diesel auxiliary engine, the boat features a well-sorted rigging package with in-mast furling for both mainsail and genoa, dual self-tailing winches, and all control lines led back to single-lever cockpit clutches for single-handed operation. The fractional rig uses a large roach mainsail with flaking system and an anodized B&R double spreader design, paired with a balanced spade rudder for efficiency and control.

Below deck, two private cabins—one forward and one aft—provide sleeping quarters, supported by a single head. The cabin features solid teak framing and a 6'6" headroom throughout. The galley includes a two-burner gimbaled stove with oven, front-loading refrigerator, double stainless sinks, and Corian countertops. A spacious dinette with fold-down table serves as the main social hub, while topside the cockpit accommodates gatherings with an oval seating arrangement, hot and cold transom shower, and integral fold-out table.

The boat carries a diesel generator, electric anchor windlass, and electric self-tailing halyard winches. Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine suite with GPS, autopilot, wind instrument, and digital depth and speed readouts. Entertainment systems comprise a 15-inch and 13-inch flat-screen television, the latter with DVD capability, plus a Bose stereo. Water capacity is 75 gallons, fuel 35 gallons, with a 34-gallon holding tank and macerator system.

The hull is built with balsa-cored sides and a solid fiberglass bottom reinforced with structural grid and Kevlar. The deck features opening ports and hatches with screens, stainless steel bow pulpit and stern rail, telescoping ladder, and Flexiteak cockpit inserts. A custom blue Sunbrella bimini and dodger, custom davit, and custom cockpit cushions are installed. The engine has logged approximately 270 hours of use.
