This 2007 Shipman 50 is a sophisticated cruising yacht built to J&J Design specifications, combining lightweight carbon construction with solid engineering. The hull, mast, and sails are carbon composite, while the interior features solid wood cabinetry and marble countertops. The boat is designed for efficient ocean cruising with a single Volvo Penta 75 hp diesel engine, which has approximately 3,000 hours of service. It achieves typical daily runs of 200 nautical miles and cruises at 8 knots at 2,000 RPM.

The deck and superstructure are carbon-reinforced epoxy with stress reinforcement, all laminated as a single structure with two watertight compartments. The carbon mast is a Hall spar with hydraulic trim, twin spreaders, and a retractable boom. Rigging is DYFORM standing rig with DYNEMA running lines, annually inspected. The sail plan includes a 2022 carbon mainsail, two carbon jibs with furlers, a code zero, and two asymmetric spinnakers, all from Advanced Sails. Deck hardware throughout is Harken and Spinlock, with primary winches electric. The steering is hydraulic with a carbon wheel and carbon rudder blade.

Accommodation divides into a forward master stateroom with queen berth and ensuite shower, two aft double cabins, and two heads. The spacious saloon offers 360-degree vision and an interior helm station. The galley features a three-burner range with oven, two refrigerators, freezer, microwave, and Nespresso machine. Solid wood joinery, high-quality leather upholstery, and marine plywood flooring throughout. Air conditioning and Webasto diesel heating serve all living spaces, with a 60-liter-per-hour water maker and 50-liter hot water tank.

The electrical system runs 12V/220V with a 3 kW Mastervolt generator, 1,500W inverter, 350W solar panels, and freshly replaced battery banks. Electronics are Raymarine throughout, including dual E120 multifunctions, autopilots, AIS, and four E90 repeaters. A Starlink antenna provides worldwide internet and phone connectivity. Deck equipment includes an electric aft platform, a Lewmar 1,200W windlass with 75 meters of stainless chain, a Max Power bow thruster, and a carbon dinghy davit.
