2008 Back Cove 33

The 2008 Back Cove 33 is a 33-foot fiberglass cruiser built around simplicity, comfort, and quality Downeast styling. Power comes from a single 480-horsepower Cummins diesel engine, delivering a cruising speed of 23 knots with a maximum speed of 27 knots. A stern thruster aids maneuvering. The hard enclosure and recent fresh bottom work are part of ongoing maintenance.

Below deck, the layout centers on a spacious vee-berth forward, followed by a convertible L-shaped settee in the salon with an inlaid table. The head features a separate shower stall to starboard. The helm deck is bright and open, with overhead hatches, side windows, and a center opening windshield. A Stidd helm chair anchors the station, while a full galley runs aft and a dinette to port seats four. A double mate's seat forward of the dinette serves the navigator. The helm deck and port dinette section raise entirely to expose the engine and mechanical systems—a hallmark of the design's accessibility.

Topside, a large bench seat in the cockpit provides comfortable seating while underway or anchored. Throughout the boat, inlaid tables and careful detailing reflect traditional Maine boatbuilding craftsmanship. The hull sides have received fresh Awlgrip paint.
