2008 Back Cove 33

The 2008 Back Cove 33 is a Downeast-style hardtop express cruiser built on a fiberglass hull with a beam of 12 feet. It is powered by a single Yanmar 6LY3-ETP turbocharged diesel producing 480 horsepower, paired with a ZF transmission and direct shaft drive. The boat features a dripless shaft seal, Nibral propeller, and recent prop service. Bow and stern thrusters provide excellent maneuverability, and a quick electric windlass handles ground tackle.

The layout prioritizes comfort and ease of use for coastal cruising. The helm deck is bright and protected, with the galley positioned aft of the helm station where crew naturally gather. A spacious cockpit offers good movement throughout, while the side decks are wide and uncluttered. Below deck, there is a forward V-berth, convertible cabin seating, and an enclosed head with a separate stall shower. Sleeping accommodations can accommodate up to five people across the various convertible berths and dinette seating.

The boat has received substantial mechanical investment recently. The engine and transmission were replaced approximately 230 hours ago, followed by comprehensive maintenance including fresh oils, fuel filters, coolant, anodes, alternator, starting batteries, and a new propeller. The galley includes a stainless sink, Corian countertops, cherry cabinetry, two newer Dometic refrigerators, and a Princess two-burner cooktop with Xintex propane detection. Power systems feature a Mastervolt 2000-watt inverter and charger with newer house batteries, plus Webasto diesel heating throughout.

Electronics include a Raymarine suite with C120 chartplotter, radar, depth sounder, and autopilot, along with an ICOM VHF and engine display. Exterior fittings are stainless steel, including bow rails and a swim ladder. The boat was surveyed in January 2025 and rated above average condition, with both in-water and out-of-water inspection completed.
