2008 Beneteau First 10R

This 2008 Beneteau First 10R is a competitive racer-cruiser built around a carbon fibre mast and optimized rig. The boat carries a low PHRF rating of 84 and features a fin-keel design with cast iron and lead bulb, continuous rod rigging, and a Harken Mk 4 genoa furler. The 20 hp Yanmar diesel inboard drives a two-blade folding propeller via sail drive, and the boat is equipped with multiple sails including a 2016 105% jib, 138% genoa, 155% reacher, and asymmetric spinnaker.

The layout accommodates two cabins with an enclosed head in the bow and a double berth in the aft cabin plus quarter berth. The salon features settee berths to port and starboard, with a navigation station and galley. Fresh water capacity is 26 gallons, fuel 20 gallons, and holding tank 12 gallons. Deck systems include four Lewmar self-tailing winches, genoa and jib tracks with cars and inhaulers, a 63-inch stainless steel wheel, and a cascade backstay with rigid vang.

The bottom has been prepared with five coats of epoxy and faired with long board sanders. Recent work includes replacement of the VHF antenna, NKE anemometer, and anchor light atop the mast, navigation lights at bow and stern, electrical upgrades to the main marine cable in late 2024, outdoor water hose replacement in spring 2025, cockpit drain and bilge pump replacement in summer 2025. A Highfield tender, Yamaha 9.9 outboard, and steel cradle with adjustable pads are included.
