The 2008 Contender 23 Tournament is a 25-foot sportfish built on a proven 24.5-degree offshore hull design that handles rough water well. Powered by a 2015 Yamaha 300 hp engine with 940 hours, it combines reliable performance with solid fishing capability. The boat features a single-engine setup and rides on a dual-axle trailer with brakes.
The deck is arranged around serious fishing work. Three 100-gallon forward, 50-gallon mid-ship, and 50-gallon transom livewells keep bait and catch fresh, backed by a sea-chest pump system with three Rule GOLD pumps. Rod storage is extensive: 18 holders in the gunnels, 6 at the console, 4 in the rocket launcher, 4 on the T-top, plus two swivel mid-ship holders with backing plates for deep dropping. Electronics include a Garmin XSV mapping GPS and FURUNO FCV 588 depth recorder with large transducer rated to 2000 feet.
Recent updates include a full epoxy paint refresh, new T-top canvas, console glass enclosure, and leaning post cushion. LED bow and stern spreader lights on the T-top, custom LED running lights, and electric reel outlets support day and night operations. A stereo with JL Audio speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier rounds out the cabin setup. Engine display and batteries were replaced in 2023.
