2008 Custom Carolina Dixon Boatworks express

This 34-foot Carolina Dixon Boatworks express is a cold-molded composite sportfish powered by a single Cummins 540-horsepower diesel engine. Designed by Jesse Rhodes and built in Charleston, South Carolina, the yacht cruises at 23 knots and reaches a top speed of nearly 30 knots. The shallow draft of 3 feet 3 inches, achieved through a four-blade propeller in a pocket bottom design, allows comfortable operation in thin water. A bow thruster aids docking maneuvers.

The helm station features a centerline pod with a Stidd chair, and a hardtop above carries flush-mount pancake teaser reels and a recently replaced G&G enclosure. The tower is equipped with controls and outriggers—a pair of spreader rigs and a center rigger—along with rod holders on the aft hardtop and rear tower legs. Aft of the helm sits a cushioned bench seat to starboard. Forward on deck, a transom fish box and livewell behind the helm seat support fishing operations.

Below deck, the modest air-conditioned cabin features a V-berth forward with overhead hatch and removable filler panels to create a full berth. A galley contains a microwave, sink, and refrigerator with modest storage. An enclosed head and shower, a small settee on the port side, and an Onan generator round out the interior. Recent cosmetic work includes new belly band and bench seat cushions. The boat has been kept on a boatlift.
