2008 Don Smith Power Boats 45

This 45-foot Don Smith center console is a fiberglass-hulled boat built to military specifications with a 10-foot beam and shallow 28-inch draft. Twin Yanmar diesel engines producing 1,040 horsepower were installed in 2023 with approximately 250 hours of operation. The boat reaches a top speed of 48 mph and cruises comfortably at 40 mph, handling 4-foot seas without pounding thanks to its length, beam, and massive 21-by-40-inch trim tabs with newly replaced rams.

The single cabin accommodates two overnight guests and features an enclosed head with shower, galley with microwave and blender, 10,000 BTU air conditioning, and a NextGen diesel generator. A 40-gallon baitwell serves fishing operations, while a dive platform and Brownies Onboard Air System rated for 3x150-foot depth support SCUBA activities. Navigation systems include a Raymarine hybrid touch 12-inch multifunction display, 24-inch radar dome, and autopilot; a 3-kilowatt transducer completes the electronics package.

Recent updates include a complete AWLGRIP paint job, new wiring throughout, all-new sound deadening insulation, and Ultradeck flooring. The boat carries twin Veem propellers in different configurations, features 12-volt windlass and bow thruster systems, and includes a rear leaning post that converts to a fighting chair. Latham steering and pump systems manage the boat's hydraulic operations.
