A 2008 Grand Banks 55 Eastbay SX, this Ray Hunt–designed downeast motor yacht combines the classic lines of a lobster boat with refined cruising capability. Twin Caterpillar C-15 ACERT diesels rated at 853 horsepower each, paired with Twin Disc transmissions, deliver a cruising speed of 22 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots. The fiberglass hull measures 55 feet with a 16-foot beam.
The yacht accommodates two queen island bed staterooms amidships, with the owner suite located forward. Two heads with stall showers, a galley with granite countertops and quality appliances, and a utility closet featuring a freezer and washer-dryer round out the interior. The salon has been updated with new soft-goods and drapes. A factory sunroof and new foredeck sun pad with cover enhance the living spaces.
Navigation and propulsion systems reflect current standards: SIMRAD and Garmin equipment, an Onan 13.5-kilowatt generator, a Trace 4000-watt inverter-charger, and Side-Power bow and stern thrusters. Dometic marine air-conditioning and heat, dual STIDD helm chairs, and a Freedom tender lift for the included 2014 APEX center console tender complete the setup. New AGM battery banks were installed in 2023. Recent additions include new aft cockpit cover and sun shade.
