The 2008 Island Packet SP Cruiser is a 41-foot fiberglass motor yacht built for extended cruising comfort. Powered by a single 110 hp Yanmar diesel engine, the boat combines trawler-like livability with capable motoring performance. Its distinctive twin cockpits—one aft and one forward—provide flexible outdoor spaces, while an enclosed deckhouse with large opening side and back windows offers panoramic views. The center windshield panel hinges upward to open the deckhouse to the forward cockpit.
The interior centers on a well-appointed helm station with dual swivel chairs, a companion seat, and a large forward console housing engine controls and instrumentation. An L-shaped settee with folding table serves as dining and gathering space. Optional autopilot with wireless handheld control allows operation from multiple locations aboard. The boat includes one head.
Since 2022, significant upgrades have modernized the yacht's systems. Four Battle Born 12V 100Ah lithium batteries, a Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controller, and 950 watts of solar panels power onboard systems. A 170 amp alternator with serpentine belt was installed in April 2022, along with a Starlink satellite system. A Highfield CL 310 RIB tender with 15 hp Mercury outboard and davits complete the setup.
Standing rigging was replaced in October 2023, and new mainsail and jib were added in May 2023. Additional updates include a new bowsprit for gennaker capability, upgraded 30 kg Bruce anchor, 253 feet of galvanized windlass chain, raw water anchor washdown, LED mast light, tinted pilothouse windows, new Sirocco II fans, and a boat cover.
