The 2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 DS is a performance cruising sailboat designed by Philippe Briand, built with a fiberglass hull and powered by a 54-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat features a raised deckhouse with distinctive teardrop windows that flood the interior with natural light, combined with wrap-around windows and oversized hull ports. The design combines a spacious cockpit suited for entertaining or passage making with a below-deck layout that prioritizes visibility and comfort across 45 feet and 14.25 feet of beam.

The layout includes an aft stateroom and a large forward owner's berth, with central air conditioning and heating throughout the cabin and salon areas. Recent work includes a new bow thruster motor and controls, new shaft packing gland, new bottom paint, a Navy Blue Awlgrip hull applied in 2019, and professional re-sealing of the deck salon windows. The Yanmar engine has logged fewer than 400 hours. Canvas upgrades include a full dodger, bimini top with connector, and a furling mainsail with matching genoa. The boat is equipped with in-mast roller furling for the mainsail, making short-handed sailing straightforward.
