2008 Lagoon 420

The 2008 Lagoon 420 is a fiberglass catamaran spanning 42 feet with a beam of nearly 25 feet, powered by twin Yanmar 3JH4E diesel engines producing 40 horsepower each. The boat features twin keels with a maximum draft of 4 feet 3 inches and offers comfortable standing headroom of 6 feet 7 inches throughout. Both engines are equipped with new Saildrive 60 units installed in 2022 and folding propellers, with standing rigging fully replaced in 2022 when the mast was shortened by 2 feet 9 inches for inland waterway passage.

The accommodations comprise an owner's suite with a large bed, sofa, separate shower, and abundant storage in the port hull, plus two additional cabins in the starboard hull, each with a double bed and private head with shower. The expansive salon opens directly to the cockpit through a sliding glass door and features light oak interior woodwork with a modern teak and holly floor. The galley includes a Corian counter with integral sink, new Isotherm refrigerator and freezer installed in 2014, and a modern propane stove with electric ignition. Four Marine Air air-conditioning systems maintain comfort throughout, with forward units replaced since 2021 and associated plumbing renewed in 2023.

The sailing inventory includes a fully battened mainsail with stack pack, a furling genoa with UV protection, two additional genoas, and multiple spinnakers. The cockpit features three Harken winches—two manual and one electric—plus an electric aft winch, all rigging leading conveniently to the helm. A hardtop bimini with integral lighting covers the spacious cockpit, which also serves as an outdoor salon. Running rigging was cleaned in May 2025, and new trampoline nets with vinyl-coated polyester and Dynema lashings were installed in 2021.

Electronics include dual Raymarine systems at the helm and navigation station with plotter, radar, wind, and depth instruments, autopilot with remote, and an 11-kilowatt Onan diesel generator with 2,700 hours of use. The boat includes an 11-foot 4-inch Boston Whaler tender with a 2016 Mercury 20-horsepower four-stroke outboard, dual 12 and 110-volt electrical systems, and substantial ground tackle with dual anchors and bridle. Recent service includes replacement of the new sail drive oil monitor in 2024, annual macerator pump service, and a fresh water system pump installed in 2022. The hull was painted with Trinidad XSR black bottom paint in 2023 with a Propspeed clear coat applied to running gear.
