2008 Meridian 490 Pilothouse

The 2008 Meridian 490 Pilothouse is a 49-foot fiberglass motoryacht built for extended cruising and liveaboard use. Twin Cummins QSB 5.9 diesel engines produce 380 horsepower each and have logged approximately 2,170 and 2,172 hours respectively. The boat features a raised pilothouse helm with a second control station on the flybridge, inboard direct drive with stainless shafts and reconditioned props, electric bow thruster, and hydraulic steering with trim tabs. A 13.5 kW diesel generator and three-zone air conditioning support comfort underway and at anchor. The fuel capacity of 444 gallons and efficient power plant are rated for 3–4 nautical miles per gallon at trawler speeds.

Accommodation is arranged as a two-stateroom, two-head layout. The forward master stateroom contains an island berth, a convertible settee, hanging lockers, and an ensuite head with tub and shower. The midship guest stateroom offers a double berth and hanging locker. Both heads include separate showers and vanities. A salon with full-beam windows opens to a U-shaped galley featuring an electric range with oven, convection microwave, 7-cubic-foot refrigerator/freezer, icemaker, trash compactor, and solid-surface countertops. A combination washer/dryer is installed in the companionway. The large flybridge provides a helm chair, L-shaped lounge, and storage beneath all seating.

The yacht was subjected to comprehensive electronics and systems upgrades from 2021 through 2026. Navigation and vessel management rely on three 12-inch Garmin GPSMAP 8612 multifunction displays with integrated autopilot, radar, and engine monitoring at both helms. A Garmin VHF radio and AIS transceiver complete the suite. Electrical systems include new four-battery L16 and Group 31 battery banks installed April 2026, a 3,000-watt inverter/charger, 400-watt solar array with controller, and Victron charging and monitoring. Connectivity includes Starlink Mini satellite internet and a Calyx onboard hotspot. Deck equipment includes a Muir electric windlass with 200 feet of all-chain rode, Magma propane grill, custom cockpit dining table, and a well-maintained electric davit supporting a 2019 12-foot Highfield RIB tender with 15 hp outboard. The hull and running gear have been maintained with propeller reconditioning in April 2026, bottom paint renewal in November 2022, and documented service throughout. Interior woodwork, gelcoat, canvas, and soft goods are reported in excellent condition.
