This 2008 Northwest 26 is a welded-aluminum pilothouse runabout built by Doug Smith in Victoria, designed for serious West Coast fishing and cruising. The modified-V hull with hard chines and lifting strakes is built to handle challenging offshore conditions. Powered by a 2020 Suzuki DF350 outboard with 150 hours, she also carries a 2015 Mercury ProKicker 15 HP kicker. The 500-liter fuel tank provides extended range, and a Road Runner aluminum tandem-axle trailer was fully refurbished in August 2023.
Twin helm stations—one enclosed in the pilothouse and one aft in the cockpit—allow operation from either location. The main cabin features a V-berth forward with enclosed head, a convertible dinette to port, and a settee to starboard. A Webasto diesel cabin heater keeps the interior comfortable. The aft cockpit is set up for fishing with three Scotty electric downriggers, a fish locker, and a self-bailing design with freeing ports.
Navigation and fish-finding equipment includes twin Lowrance HDS-12 displays networked together, B&G radar, NAC-1 autopilot, Standard Horizon Matrix AIS/VHF at the main helm, and a compass. Bennett Marine hydraulic trim tabs support precision boat handling. Electrical systems include three Group 27 batteries, a Samlex 2000W inverter, and a Blue Sea Systems switch bank. AdvanTec marine windows were replaced in 2017, and all navigation lights are tested and current.
The boat has been maintained on a continuous annual service schedule since 2013, with full documentation on file. The main engine, kicker, electronics suite, and trailer have all been recently updated or refurbished, with minimal deferred maintenance remaining.
