2008 Van De Stadt Stadtship 70

The Van de Stadt Stadtship 70 is a 2008 aluminium bluewater cruising yacht designed for serious offshore sailing. Built by KM Yachtbuilders to Van de Stadt Design's proven hull form, she combines a light displacement, narrow beam, and extended waterline with a 2.90-metre lead-ballasted bulb keel and carbon mast fitted with a Park Avenue boom. These elements deliver speed, control, and seaworthiness in demanding conditions.

The deck layout features twin cockpits: a working area for efficient sail handling and a sheltered cockpit under the doghouse for comfortable cruising. The synthetic Ecodeck was installed in 2018. Below, a mahogany interior provides four staterooms accommodating eight guests, including a spacious owner's suite with ensuite facilities.

She is fully equipped for long-range independent cruising. Power comes from a Perkins Sabre diesel engine, supplemented by a generator, hydrogenerator, and watermaker. Navigation systems are comprehensive. A central pneumatic system, sourced from commercial and offshore vessel practice, provides redundancy and low fire risk. An airbag release system enhances safety for offshore operations. The sail wardrobe includes an Elvström mainsail from 2023 and Elvström genoa from 2024.
