The 65 Legacy represents Bluewater Yachts' flagship design, built on a fiberglass hull with a nearly 18-foot beam and 6-foot freeboard. Twin 670 horsepower Cummins diesel engines deliver cruising capability at 25 knots, with an efficient range of 800 miles at 10 knots on a consumption rate of approximately one gallon per mile. The generous beam and freeboard create substantial interior volume alongside considerable upper deck space finished with modern seating arrangements for entertaining.
The interior has been updated with new ultra suede cushions and amtico flooring throughout. Fresh water systems include new pumps and a 40 gallon per hour water maker. The boat carries new batteries, new air conditioning and DC systems, and fresh bottom paint. A shallow draft of just three feet allows access to shallow anchorages and island cruising grounds.
The yacht is equipped for extended cruising with solar panels and wind turbines paired to an inverter system, allowing essential operations to run from renewable sources independent of the generator. Year-round scheduled maintenance and regular bottom paintings have been part of the boat's upkeep. Systems and equipment have been selected with long-term energy efficiency and self-sufficiency in mind.
