2009 Class 40 Akilaria RC2

The 2009 Akilaria RC2 is a Class 40 designed by M. Lombard and built by MC-TEC. This 40-foot monohull was designed for shorthanded offshore racing but has proven equally capable for fast passage making and long-distance cruising. The boat has a competitive racing pedigree, with early success in open-water events around the British Isles and beyond.

The yacht accommodates one cabin and is laid out for efficient shorthanded operation. Her beam of nearly 15 feet provides stability and livable accommodation for extended offshore passages.

Since 2018, the boat has undergone an extensive refit of critical systems. She has crossed the Atlantic multiple times between the United States and Europe, demonstrating the benefits of this comprehensive recommissioning. The boat is well-suited to both racing in distance events and cruising at sea.
