2009 Fountain 38 Express Cruiser

This 2009 Fountain 38 Express Cruiser is built on a Generation III twin-step positive lift hull and powered by twin Cummins 4.2L QSD diesel engines. The boat cruises at 34 knots and reaches approximately 41 knots at full throttle. Twin Mercury Bravo 3 XR Duo-Prop drives deliver responsive handling, supported by a high-performance Latham hydraulic steering system with dual pumps and heavy-duty trim tabs designed for offshore conditions. The boat carries 296 gallons of fuel in baffled aluminum tanks and includes a 6-kilowatt Kohler diesel generator for ship's power.

The interior provides comfortable overnight accommodations across two cabins. The forward cabin features a large V-berth with cedar-lined hanging locker, while the aft cabin includes a double-size berth and LED reading lights. The salon showcases dark cherry wood trim, a sofa with storage, and a 26-inch LCD television. A fully enclosed fiberglass head with shower serves both cabins. The galley is fitted with Corian countertops, a polished stainless sink, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and single-burner electric stove, with dedicated storage for dishes and provisions. Climate control includes both air conditioning and heating for the cabin and cockpit.

The boat has received significant mechanical and electronic updates since 2020. A Garmin 8610 chartplotter with integrated radar and a Fusion audio system were installed in 2020. The outdrives were overhauled that same year. Subsequent work included replacement of rear engine mounts, hoses, drive couplings, and raw water lines in 2022, gimbal bearing and shift cable replacement in 2024, and new propellers with a spare set in 2025. The engine room features an automatic FireBoy fire suppression system with diesel engine shutdown capability.

The cockpit features U-shaped lounge seating for 8 to 10 people with a removable table and carpeting, a wet bar with sink and storage, and integrated swim platform with transom door and hot/cold shower. A polished stainless steel anchor system with windlass and 150 feet of galvanized chain is included. A 2018 Venture triple-axle aluminum trailer with bunk support is part of the package. The boat maintains annual synthetic oil changes for both engines and outdrives.
