2009 Hylas Hylas 70

The 2009 Hylas 70 is a 70-foot sailing yacht designed by German Frers and built by Queen Long Marine to exacting standards. Hull #5 of the series, this boat combines serious offshore capability with the comfort and space expected in a bluewater cruiser. The twin-wheel deck layout includes a dedicated forward cockpit seating area and is arranged around push-button sailing systems for efficient shorthanded operation.

The yacht carries a full carbon rig with in-boom furling and a new mainsail installed in 2026. A 260-horsepower Yammer diesel engine powers the boat, supported by a 16-kilowatt generator. Shallow-draft keel design, bow thruster, and full carbon rigging suit her to varied cruising grounds. The cockpit is fully enclosed with a bimini and isinglass, updated in 2021.

Below deck, the four-cabin layout maximizes volume and flexibility for extended voyaging. The yacht is equipped with a watermaker, tropical air conditioning package rated at 65,000 BTU, and systems built throughout to support ocean passage-making. The boat has cruised extensively in the Caribbean and Florida and shows the maintenance standard expected of a well-used blue-water cruiser.
