The 2009 Lagoon 500 is a 50.85-foot fiberglass catamaran powered by two Yanmar diesel engines of 110 hp combined, fitted with sail drive propulsion. The boat was comprehensively refitted in 2024, including new sails—a roller genoa and battened mainsail—new bimini and sprayhood, and overhauled engines. The hull has a beam of 28.22 feet and draws 1.40 meters.
Below deck, the yacht accommodates five cabins plus two crew berths forward, with five electric heads servicing up to 10 guests and 2 crew. Water and fuel capacity total 1,000 liters each across dual tanks. Power systems include 12 batteries (9×145Amp, 2×100Amp, 1×100Amp, 1×55Amp), two battery chargers, a 3,000-watt inverter, and two generators—an Onan 19kVA and Kohler 11kVA. A watermaker, 40-liter water heater, and two 12-volt refrigerators support extended cruising.
Navigation and communication equipment comprises a Raymarine E95w plotter on the flybridge, Raymarine autopilot, echo sounder, speed and log, wind instruments, and two compasses. A single VHF radio and separate GMDSS battery are installed. The galley includes gas stoves and a freezer. Air conditioning serves all areas; electric pumps with one manual backup support operations.
Safety gear includes a 12-person liferaft with annual inspection, EPIRB, 12 life harnesses, 12 life jackets, and three fire extinguishers. Additional equipment comprises 100 meters of 12mm chain, four winches with one electric, a 3.80-meter tender, and a full set of galley and signaling equipment. The boat underwent winterization in 2026 and has been hauled yearly for maintenance.
