2009 Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 Variotop MKII

The Linssen Grand Sturdy 500 Variotop MKII is a traditional steel motor yacht built in 2009 by the respected Dutch shipyard Linssen Yachts. At nearly 50 feet in length with a 16-foot beam, the hull features a multi-chined steel construction for strength and stability. The wheelhouse is topped with a Variotop roof that lifts to provide open-air cruising or lowers for weather protection, delivering all-round visibility and bright interior spaces. Dark-tinted double-glazed windows with anodized frames line the superstructure, while teak adorns the deck surfaces.

The interior combines cherry wood joinery with beige leather upholstery throughout. The saloon is generously proportioned with large windows and includes both a seating area and dining space. Three cabins sleep six: an aft cabin with a double bed, a forward V-berth cabin, and a guest cabin with two bunks. The galley is fully equipped with an induction cooktop, combination oven and microwave, two refrigerators with freezer sections, and a Siemens dishwasher. Hot water is supplied via an onboard boiler, and the water system supports full cruising comfort.

Two Vetus Deutz DET66E425E diesel engines, each producing 170 hp, drive the yacht through ZF45-H gearboxes. Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters aid maneuvering. A 2,800-liter steel fuel tank supports extended cruising. The electrical system comprises seven batteries, Mastervolt and Victron charging equipment, an inverter, and five 180-watt solar panels for self-sufficiency. Navigation and communications include a Raymarine Axiom system, radar, AIS, autopilot, multifunction displays, and Alphatron VHF radios.

Safety and convenience features include a Plastimo life raft, electric fire extinguishing in the engine room, electric bilge pump, and self-bailer. Deck amenities feature full teak surfaces, a cockpit tent over the aft area, outdoor cushions, an integrated swim platform with ladder, and a hydraulic system for hoisting a dinghy. A hydraulic mast-lowering mechanism and stainless steel bow ladder complete the layout.
