2009 MacGregor 26M

The 2009 MacGregor 26M is a 26-foot fiberglass motor cruiser with retractable dagger board and furling sail, designed for both power and sail operation. Powered by a 60 hp Evinrude two-stroke outboard, she reaches 16 knots at full throttle and cruises efficiently at 7 knots. The hull features full flotation, no through-hull fittings, and draws just 12 inches of water, enabling exploration of shallow inland waterways and beach landings. The single-person-operable mast raises and lowers easily, and an engine disconnect option allows fingertip steering under sail without the weight and drag of the outboard engaged.

The boat sleeps and lives aboard comfortably. Below deck is a Dometic 12-volt refrigerator and freezer, hand pump galley sink, two-burner propane stove with aluminum tank, and plumbed porta-potty for marina pump-out. A 30-gallon water bag supplies the system. Electrical power comes from Trojan 6-volt AGM batteries configured as 12-volt, supplemented by 150 watts of solar and a 400-watt inverter; shore power connections enable charging at marinas. A custom 600-watt AC hatch adapter works with a 1,000-watt Honda generator for onboard power when anchored. Navigation and communication include a Garmin echoMAP 74dv chartplotter with LakeVu and Bluechart, VHF radio, and electronic USCG signal device.

The boat has been actively maintained and upgraded. Recent work includes new rigging and halyards (2024–2025), new dagger board (2023), two coats of ablative bottom paint (2025), engine service (April 2024), updated battery system, and refreshed sail inventory consisting of main, jib, 150 percent genoa, and spare sails from 2019. Included are a custom dodger frame with cover, cockpit table, a two-axle trailer serviced in 2020, a 2.5 hp Suzuki auxiliary motor, and a 9-foot inflatable dinghy. All original MacGregor documentation and manuals accompany the boat.
