The 2009 Maine Cat P-47 is a 47-foot fiberglass flybridge catamaran powered by twin Volvo diesel engines producing 220 horsepower each. The boat cruises at 16 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 26.9 knots. The hull features a canoe stern design that improves efficiency and reduces propeller fouling risk. The boat demonstrates strong fuel economy across its operating range, achieving 1.3 to 1.4 miles per gallon at 22 knots and trawler-like efficiency at 8 to 9 knots.
The interior includes two cabins and two heads. The starboard cabin has a queen bed positioned athwartships, while the port cabin features a full-sized bed oriented lengthwise. Deck hardware features an Ideal windlass, multiple anchors, and a dinghy crane. The propshaft runs fully enclosed in a pressurized oil-lubricated stainless steel tube, eliminating traditional stuffing boxes. The boat has been stored in heated indoor storage since delivery.
