This 2009 Oyster 655 is a purpose-built offshore cruising yacht designed by Rob Humphreys, measuring 67.6 feet with an 18.4-foot beam. The hull combines a carbon and Kevlar composite laminate laid to Lloyd's standards with a high-performance external lead bulb keel and fully protected skeg-hung rudder, delivering strong sailing capability. The carbon in-mast furling sloop rig, reinforced bowsprit, and powerful sail plan—including 2020 North 3Di mainsail and genoa—are built for efficiency across a range of conditions. Standing rigging was renewed in 2021–2022, and the mast received a full service in 2021.
The yacht features twin steering pedestals with carbon Y wheels and a split cockpit that clearly separates the helm area from the guest/crew space. Teak-laid decks include a hydraulic passerelle (new 2025) for convenient boarding, while the cockpit benefits from a walk-through layout with easy access forward. The Lewmar 3000 anchor windlass, stainless steel fittings, and deck plumbing—including a freshwater shower in the transom step locker—support practical cruising.
Four spacious cabins sleep eight with cherry joinery throughout. The owner's stateroom occupies the aft quarter with its own deck hatch, a double berth with upholstered surround, extensive storage, a settee with trotter box, and an en suite head with shower. Three guest cabins forward include an L-shaped twin, a double, and a starboard twin; all have en suite or day-head access. The generous saloon features an L-shaped settee and extending dining table, while the galley steps down to port with a U-shaped layout, induction cooker, dishwasher, and full appliances suited to extended passage-making.
Systems throughout reflect recent investment. A completely new Raymarine electronics suite on a modern bus network (2025) includes dual 12-inch Axiom Pro chartplotters, autopilot controls, multifunction displays, and integrated instrumentation. A new Starlink antenna (2024) provides internet connectivity. The Perkins/Sabre M185C diesel engine (187 hp) runs alongside a 13.5 kVA Onan generator; service batteries were replaced in 2024. Air conditioning comprises multiple Cruisair+ units (2018 galley unit new) and Eberspacher heating (new 2023). A Seafresh watermaker produces 120 litres per hour with new membranes and systems (2019–2020). The hull was professionally taken back to gelcoat, primed, and finished with fresh antifouling in 2023. Below deck, plentiful storage, cherry sole with teak perimeter, leather upholstery, and cabin entertainment systems including LED lighting throughout create a refined cruising environment. An AB aluminium dinghy with 15hp Yamaha outboard (new spring 2020) is included.
