2009 Tiara Yachts 4300 Sovran

The 2009 Tiara 4300 Sovran is a 45-foot express cruiser built on a fiberglass hull and powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 pod drives totaling 870 hp. The IPS system delivers quiet, vibration-free operation at cruising speeds, intuitive joystick control for seamless maneuvering in tight spaces, and improved fuel efficiency compared to conventional inboard setups. The compact footprint of the pod drives allows for an unusually spacious interior layout in this class.

The yacht accommodates three cabins and features two full heads with separate shower compartments. The main stateroom includes a custom memory-foam mattress and private head access, while the second stateroom has twin beds convertible to a queen berth. The galley is well-equipped with a full-size refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop, microwave, and onboard washer/dryer. Solid teak and holly flooring runs throughout the cabin, and both the main salon and cockpit feature updated factory upholstery completed in 2023.

The helm is outfitted with a comprehensive Garmin electronics package including dual multifunction displays, radar, autopilot, GPS, chartplotter, sonar, and fish finder. Additional navigation and convenience systems include VHF radio, upgraded compass, and a Starlink mount. The boat carries three cabin air conditioning units, two cockpit units, an 11.5-kW diesel generator, 50/240-volt shore power with Glendinning Cablemaster, and newer AGM batteries installed in 2023. Deck features include a fiberglass hardtop with side glass and tinted windows, electric windlass with 100 feet of chain, anchor washdown, swim platform with SeaDeck flooring, and a Freedom Lift hydraulic system for dinghy deployment.

Recent work includes replacement of the port engine and vessel control module in 2025, ceramic coating applied in 2025, new bottom paint in 2024, and propeller tuning by Holland Prop. A custom 10-inch memory-foam mattress, tinted side windows, and Starlink mount were added in 2025. The boat has been freshwater-maintained on the Great Lakes with indoor storage.
