The 2009 Tiara Yachts 4300 Sovran is a 43-foot fiberglass cruiser powered by two Volvo Penta IPS diesel engines producing 870 horsepower combined. The boat reaches a top speed of 28 knots with a cruising speed of 25 knots, and the IPS system delivers approximately 25 percent better fuel efficiency than comparable traditional propulsion. The IPS joystick control provides low-speed maneuverability without the need for a separate bow thruster, allowing single-hand command of the propulsion units for docking and tight-quarter maneuvering.
The IPS propulsion system's compact footprint enabled the interior design to incorporate a full second stateroom with dedicated head. The accommodations include two heads, a galley with full-size refrigerator/freezer and storage, and a comfortable cockpit with inviting seating. The cabin layout prioritizes comfort and livability for extended cruising.
Two factory re-manufactured Volvo engines are currently being installed, each with zero hours and factory warranty coverage. The IPS system is designed to operate with reduced noise and vibration compared to conventional propulsion, supporting quiet, conversational conditions while underway.
