This 2009 Wallynano37 is a collaborative design between Luca Bassani and André Hoek, built in full carbon composite and engineered for both racing performance and cruising comfort. The hull combines plumb bows with generous overhangs that provide excellent buoyancy and waterline length, paired with a single spade rudder and deep 2.6-metre bulb keel for outstanding stability and control. Under sail, she sustains impressive speeds downwind with a Code 0 or gennaker, and performs responsively even in light winds thanks to her lightweight construction.
The yacht has undergone extensive recent refits to elevate her capabilities. A new Volvo D1-20 diesel engine was installed in 2018, giving her a cruising range of up to 250 nautical miles and the extended motoring range rarely found in this fleet. The topsides, coamings, and superstructure were repainted in 2018, and a Hall Spars carbon mast with a two-part design for transport was paired with a new boom. In 2024, the mast was re-stepped following winter storage and a full rig inspection, with the carbon spars inspected again in 2023. Cariboni hydraulics system serves the genoa, backstay, and vang, and was serviced in 2023. Elvstrom EPEX sails date from 2021. A new engine control box was added in 2025, and fresh antifouling was applied in March 2024.
The interior is an open, flexible space with one cabin and one head, plus pressurised hot and cold water and a fridge-freezer. A Raymarine electronics suite includes a Wi-Fi chart plotter, integrated autopilot, and mast-mounted multi-function displays. Cockpit and sunbathing cushions are included, along with a full winter cover. The hull can be dismantled—keel, rudder, and two-part mast—and fitted entirely within a standard 40-foot shipping container with all gear. The 19-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel provides steady motoring between sailing destinations.
