This 2009 Yellowfin 42 Offshore is a center console fishing boat built with serious offshore capability. The fiberglass hull measures 42 feet in length with a 12-foot beam. The boat was repowered in June 2022 with four new Mercury 300R outboard engines, providing 1,200 total horsepower.
The accommodations center on a large walk-in console featuring two 6-foot 6-inch bunks, an electric head, and a shower. The cockpit includes substantial seating arrangements: a leaning post with aft-facing seating and an additional aft seating area with a built-in live well underneath. The boat carries two separate live wells for baitfish storage.
Equipment is extensive and upgrades throughout the years reflect active use. The hardtop is an oversized factory fiberglass structure with white powder-coated aluminum framing. Electronics include two Furuno TZT2 15-inch multi-function displays with GPS, chart plotter, depth finder, and fish finder functions, a Furuno 6kW open array radar system, a new Airmar 1kW transducer installed in 2021, a new Furuno autopilot from 2020, and a new Standard Horizon Quantum VHF radio with DSC from 2022. The boat features 18-foot carbon fiber outriggers, over 30 rod holders throughout, spreader lights and speakers mounted on the hardtop, and seven rocket launchers on the aft structure. A molded-in overhead fiberglass electronics box is integrated into the console.
The bottom was repainted around early 2026. The boat has had two owners total and was stored under cover on a lift or in an enclosed dry-stack facility for much of its service life.
