The 36-foot Island Packet Estero is a full-keel cruising yacht built for extended bluewater and coastal voyages. Designed around Island Packet's proven philosophy of moderate displacement and conservative ballast, the Estero delivers balanced sailing performance with an emphasis on seaworthiness and livability. A single 40-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine powers the fiberglass hull, which has a shoal draft suited to varied anchorages. The boat measures 12.33 feet on the beam, giving it a length-to-beam ratio that contributes to both stability and comfort.

The interior centers on a forward saloon that serves as the main social and dining space, with a drop-leaf table that converts the area into additional sleeping berth when lowered. The galley sits amidships to port, positioned near the boat's fore-and-aft center with overhead hatch and opening port lights for ventilation. This placement keeps the galley out of the main traffic flow while providing good counter space, storage, and an insulated refrigerator-freezer system.
