2010 Knysna 480

The 2010 Knysna 480 is a 48-foot catamaran designed by Angelo Lavranos for blue-water cruising. The hull features high bows, an extended waterline, and substantial bridge deck clearance to deliver confident performance across varied sea states. Twin Yanmar diesel engines of 54 horsepower each provide auxiliary power. The beam of 26 feet 6 inches provides stability and interior volume.

The layout includes four staterooms and three heads, with bright, naturally lit spaces throughout. Large cabins and generous head compartments prioritize comfort for extended cruising. The interior is finished to a high standard, reflecting the build quality characteristic of the Knysna brand.

The boat has undergone an extensive refit and has considerable offshore cruising experience behind it. During four years of continuous living aboard, the owner reported the hull and construction to be exceptionally robust and well-executed, with the design proving safe and comfortable even when sailing reefed in heavy weather and significant sea states.
