The 2011 Amel 55 is a 56.76-foot cruising sailboat built from fiberglass with a beam of 16.37 feet. Powered by a single 140 hp Steyr diesel inboard engine, it is equipped with a three-blade propeller and features reversible air conditioning and Webasto heating throughout. The boat carries a Dessalator watermaker, an Onan generator, and modern Raymarine Axiom Plus electronics with four displays and a brand new radar system.
Recent work includes a full engine overhaul completed in 2026 with installation of a new fuel pump, transmission replacement, and fuel tank cleaning. The standing rigging was renewed two years ago, and running rigging has been upgraded to Dyneema. The mainsail motor is new, with the spare motor also overhauled. A Reckmann electric genoa furler and Parasailor are recent additions.
Additional systems include hydraulic gangway by Gandolo, electric davits by Simpson, new VHF, fresh sensors, and recent wiring. Batteries are two years old. The Onan generator shows 1850 hours of service, while the watermaker has 850 hours logged.
