The Herreshoff Fish Class is an enlarged interpretation of the classic Herreshoff 12½, retaining the same stability, seaworthiness, and handling that define the design. At 21 feet, she displaces roughly twice that of her smaller cousin despite being only 4 feet longer, giving her genuine presence and capability. A cuddy cabin provides storage and shelter, including space for a head, while her spacious, deep cockpit suits sailors of all ages and families with young children. She sails efficiently at moderate angles of heel and performs well across a range of conditions.
Built by Artisan Boatworks in 2011 to full yacht standards, this boat features edge-glued plank-on-frame construction over steam-bent frames with a laminated mahogany backbone. All fasteners are bronze, hardware comes from JM Reineck & Son, and sails are by Nat Wilson. Power is supplied by a 10 hp Yanmar diesel engine. The boat is equipped with a galvanized Triad trailer and has been maintained by Artisan Boatworks since completion.
