The 2011 Southerly 57 RS is a raised-saloon cutter designed by Ed Dubois and built by Northshore Yachts. This flagship model combines ocean-crossing capability with shallow-water access through a hydraulic swing keel that draws approximately 4 feet raised and 10'9" deployed. Twin rudders, fine entry, and a long waterline create a stable, manageable platform offshore, while the keel design and grounding plate allow her to take the ground safely. The 150 HP Yammer 4LV150 diesel was installed new in 2023 with approximately 610 hours as of April 2026.
Topside, the yacht features twin carbon wheels, redundant helm electronics, bow and stern thrusters, push-button sail handling, and a hydraulic transom door. A Selden carbon fiber mast with triple spreaders and in-boom furling powers the double-headsail rig, including a new Code Zero. A Williams 285 Turbo Jet tender with 90 HP Rotax engine is housed in a hydraulic garage, with a hydraulic beach club platform aft. The large sailing cockpit and all soft goods have been recently updated.
The raised saloon interior features Crown Cut teak joinery, teardrop windows, leather and stainless accents, and a three-stateroom, two-head layout with a full-beam forward owner's suite. The fiberglass hull is 57 feet with an 17.08-foot beam.
Recent systems improvements include a 1,240 Ah lithium house battery at 24V, an 800W solar array on the bimini with new Victron MPPT controller, a Schenker Zen 150 watermaker producing approximately 40 gallons per hour, new B&G Zeus SR-12 chartplotter displays with updated instrumentation, and Starlink connectivity. The ZF63A transmission was replaced in 2023.
