2012 Hake / Seaward 26RK

The Seaward 26RK is a trailerable sailing yacht built around a retractable keel design that opens access to shallow anchorages while maintaining excellent tracking in deeper water. The torpedo keel draws 6 feet when fully deployed and retracts to just 2 inches, controlled by an electric winch from the cockpit. At 28 feet overall with a beam of 8 feet, this pocket cruiser combines serious sailing capability with practical portability—she comes on a galvanized tandem trailer for easy launching from any ramp.

The hull is built to exacting standards: a vinylester gelcoat over 1.5-ounce chopped-strand mat and isophthalic polyester resin, then 40-ounce triaxial cloth. Coremat reinforces the flat sections for stiffness, while extra laminations reinforce high-stress areas including the keel trunk and the hull-deck joint. The deck is cored with Divinycell foam and features 1/8-inch aluminum plates bedded into the lamination for hardware mounting. Chainplates are tied through stainless steel straps that penetrate the coachroof and anchor to the hull via stainless rods.

Accommodations include sleeping for three adults, a galley, a porte-potty, and air conditioning. The cabin has a traditional tall plumb bow with six stainless steel portholes and a large forward portlight. On deck, you'll find an anchor roller, toe rail, navigation lights, and cleat fairleads integrated into the design. The mainsail comes ready in a stack pack, and a furling headsail allows single-handed sailing. A Tohatsu 9.9-horsepower outboard provides auxiliary power when needed.
