The 2012 Morris M29 is a 29-foot sailing yacht built on a composite fiberglass hull with balsa core and Vinylester resin. She combines traditional styling—varnished teak toe rail, hand rails, and coaming cap—with modern naval architecture and a modified fin keel with bulb paired to a carbon fiber rudder. The self-tacking jib and simplified sail handling eliminate the need for winches; all control lines lead to the cockpit via blocks and tackles for mechanical advantage. A 14 horsepower Yanmar diesel saildrive provides auxiliary power with a folding propeller.
The single cabin features a teak sole, cherry hull sheathing and trim, and includes a forepeak storage area accessed through the forward bulkhead. The cockpit is fitted with teak decking, a laminated teak tiller with canvas cover, and a Forespar tiller extension. Navigation and safety equipment includes a Ritchie compass, Raymarine speed display, bicolor bow light, and transom stern light. The electrical system comprises a 100 amp-hour AGM battery and 60 amp Yanmar alternator.
The spars and rigging reflect a clean, performant setup: a Hall carbon fiber mast and aluminum boom with a fractional rig, Harken mainsail luff track, and self-tacking jib on curved athwarships track. The standing rigging is 1 x 9 stainless steel wire. The sail inventory includes North 3Di Endurance mainsail and jib, plus a Dacron mainsail and jib from 2012, along with a G-AP3 gennaker. Safety equipment includes life jackets, portable fire extinguishers, an engine compartment fire port, and manual and electric bilge pumps.
The boat has been maintained in fresh water since new and includes a custom Triad trailer for transport and storage, along with fenders, dock lines, boarding ladder, and cockpit cover.
