The 2012 Winter Custom Yachts 38 Express is a composite-hulled sportfish powered by twin Volvo diesel engines producing 870 horsepower. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 37 knots and cruises comfortably at 30 knots. With 1,400 engine hours, the yacht runs on an efficient IPS-600 propulsion system designed for responsive joystick maneuvering.
The helm features an L-shaped seating arrangement and custom fiberglass hardtop with three-quarter enclosure, sheltering the wheelhouse from weather. Teak appointments include the helm deck, cockpit, coaming, covering boards, toe rail, transom, and rocket launcher. The aft deck carries a full galley with grill and outriggers for fishing. Accommodation includes sleeping for five, with one crew berth and a single head.
In 2019, the yacht received substantial upgrades: a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer for improved ride quality, a complete Garmin electronics suite, underwater lighting system, custom teak bridge deck table, and interior soft goods recovered throughout. The exterior soft goods were also refreshed. Additional features include Release Marine teak ladder-back helm chairs, custom whisper wall fabrics, and paddle board brackets mounted to the hardtop.
